How to Compress the Pictures File Size on iOS device

Images eat up a lot of storage space on smartphones. In case you are looking for ways to make more space on your phone, then you can compress the images. Follow these methods and steps to know how we can reduce the size of your image files according to your preferences on iOS:

Compressing image file size through Image Size app
This app is available in the Apple App Store.
  1. Firstly, navigate to the Image Size app and tap to open.
  2. Go to the upper-left image icon and then hit the “Allow Access” tab in the photo library.
  3. Now select any of the photos that you like to compress its size by hitting the “Choose” option.
  4. Next, your image will automatically reduce to its limit by the app. You may view the reducing parameters from 1.37 MB to 302.64 KB.
  5. At last, touch the “Download” tab to store your reduced image to the Photo library.
Compressing image file size through Shortcuts App 
For this method, you should have an iOS device running on version 12 or above. In this method, your system must be enabled with untrusted shortcuts. You may do yourself by tapping on settings. Then go to “Shortcuts” and allow your toggle to untrusted shortcuts.
Follow these steps to do this:
  1. Install “Change Image Quality & Share shortcut” on the iPhone handheld device.
  2. Then go to the “Get Shortcut” option and hit the “Add Untrusted Shortcuts” tab appears through a pop-out dialogue box.
  3. Now, hit the Shortcuts App to open on your iPhone. You may be asked to allow access to the images library. Then you have to hit on allow option.
  4. When you have provided your consent in yes, you will select an image from the list of images that you like to reduce it.
  5. At last, hit on the “Done” button when you have selected your desired image.
  6. Now, you have to select the size limit that suits you. After that, a share sheet will appear. Then press on the “Save” button.
  7. After tapping on the “Save” option, your image will be resized to a new resolution, and it converts to the compressed image.
  8. After finishing all the steps, you may remove your old images.
