The Google Home Hub has recently hit the market. Well, you
must want to make the most out of it. In order to optimize your Google Home Hub
user experience, you need to set it up properly. In this blog, we will discuss
various ways to personalize your Hub experience. Let’s get started.
Figure out where to place it
Did you just get a Google Home Hub? Well, congratulations. Now, now you must determine where you want to set it up. Are you an enthusiastic cook? Well, you might want to place it in the kitchen then. Google Home is very handy in the kitchen. You can set timers, get recipes, and weight-watchers can ask about calories and nutritional information. Wine drinkers can use the Wine Guide to find out food and drinking combinations.
Since the Google Home Hub does not have any camera, it is
fine to keep it on the nightstand next to your bed. You can set alarms, listen
to audio books before going to bed, and get news and weather updates in the
morning.
If you wish to use it as a digital picture frame, then it is
better to place it somewhere others will be able to see it. So place it on your
work desk, family room, or living room.
Install the Google Home application
Google Home Hub is incomplete without the Google Home app.
This newly updated app is important in the setup process. So, just install the
app in your Android or iOS device.
Teach the device to identify your voice
Now, if you have a Hub, you would be interacting with it
using your voice. Google Assistant is capable of recognizing voices and associating
them with individual users. Therefore, if you ask for any new mails, you will
receive results from your email account. This is an amazing option for
personalization.
Enable SafeSearch
Do you have kids in your home? Well, Google has come up with
the Family Link application for children below 13 years. This way, guardians
and parental units can set up Google accounts for their kids and it comes with
several parental control options. Adults can restrict certain apps or allow
only some apps. They can turn on Safe Search and all the adult content will get
filtered. Adults can also disable Google Assistant completely for particular
user accounts.
Digital wellbeing
Do you end up wasting hours on the internet? Well, you set
aside some downtime. When you enable Digital wellbeing, you won’t be able to
access Google Assistant on individual or all Google Home devices.
Just tap on the Google Home app and hit the gear icon to
launch the Settings menu. Tap on Digital wellbeing and then hit Set up. Now,
you will get the option to enable content filters, or to skip it. Skip the
option and then the Schedule Downtime menu will open. Now, just turn on custom
schedules for enabling and disabling Google Assistant.
